LIVERPOOL FAVOURITES AHEAD OF LEIPZIG

Penultimate Champions League holders can banish their wretched league form once again when they take on German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig at home in the second leg of their round of 16 tie in the Champions League.

Liverpool have been in freefall at home especially in the Premier League but the good news for Reds fans is that the team won’t face RB Leipzig at Anfield, where they have lost the last six matches in the Premier League.

Liverpool will host RB Leipzig at the same match venue as the first leg due to Covid-19 restrictions. The first leg took place in Budapest, Hungary and it will once again host the second leg on Wednesday night. Ahead of the game with RB Leipzig, Liverpool are favourites as per the various soccer betting sites across the world.

Liverpool have a 2-0 lead from the first leg and they are on course to seal their place in the last eight. According to the aforementioned soccer betting sites, Liverpool are massive favourites to join the likes of German Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund and Portuguese club FC Porto in the quarterfinals of the Champions League this season.

The Reds are in a fantastic position against Bundesliga title contenders RB Leipzig after the two goals scored by Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the first leg played last month.

It is still unbelievable that Liverpool have lost their last six games at home in the league. The last of those six successive home losses came last weekend. The Reds were beaten 1-0 by relegation strugglers Fulham.

The Cottagers were able to secure a priceless win despite the fact that Liverpool were made the favourites by soccer betting sites worldwide. Southampton loanee and Gabonese international Mario Lemina was the hero for Fulham following his unstoppable strike on the stroke of half-time.

NEW RULES FOR GAMBLING CONTENT OR PROMOTION ON FOOTBALL SOCIAL MEDIA

British council responsible for overseeing gambling activities in the UK Betting and Gambling Council has rolled out new rules in a bid to curb the promotion of gambling activities by football clubs on social media.

The council confirmed that the new rules will ensure that clubs are guided in their content creation on their social media pages as they look to protect children from getting exposed to gambling and sports betting.

The newly revised code of conduct ensures that football clubs will not be able to add or insert links or calls to action under any post they make on social media.

Clubs have been banned with immediate effect from advertising any gambling or betting website in any of their posts, while they will also not be allowed to indulge in addressing match bonuses or odds on any of their posts.

The new code which will take effect from the 1st of March later this year aims to control the activities of football clubs online so they do not teach children how to place bets or go into gambling. The Betting and Gaming Council wrote to the Premier League and the English Football League informing them to ensure that all the clubs registered under them go through the new code and adhere strictly to the new rules whether or not they belong to the BGC.

The rules were revised and restructured after up to eleven clubs scattered across the Premier League the English Football League (EFL), and the Scottish Premiership all got a letter informing them of the dangers involved in promoting gambling through their social media pages.

Since the introduction of the Sixth Industry Code for Socially Responsible Advertising, there has been a massive reduction in the number of minors that come across adverts about gambling in the UK.

CHELSEA EXPECTED TO MAINTAIN WINNING RUN

Chelsea fans have every right to be optimistic about the long-term life under new manager Thomas Tuchel going by what has happened in the short-term life under him.

The Blues have become a different team under him in comparison to the final days of the Frank Lampard regime.

Chelsea legend Lampard was sacked by the club last month after a poor run of results and was replaced swiftly by Thomas Tuchel, who had lost his job as the PSG manager earlier this season. Under Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have won three and drawn one of the four games played in the league and that has taken the team to within one point of Premier League holders Liverpool in the race for Champions League football next season. ARSENAL FAVOURITES FOR FA CUP CLASH

Arsenal are the reigning FA Cup champions and they will start the defence of the title they won last season with an home game with Newcastle United on Saturday evening. Chelsea had to finish the game with ten men after Croatian international Mateo Kovacic was dismissed for two yellow cards. Gabonese international hit man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the star of the game after he bagged a brace against the Blues. RB Leipzig vs Manchester United Betting Tips

Manchester United have been receiving a lot of criticism for their difficult campaign, but recent weeks have seen the team display a lot of character.

The defeat against PSG at Old Trafford in the recent round places a lot of importance on the upcoming match against RB Leipzig. There will be no fans for this encounter and United will be hoping to make the most of the psychological advantage from the 5-0 victory in the reverse fixture. The match might turn out to be a lot more difficult for United even with the comfortable win in the previous round.

RB Leipzig are undoubtedly feeling the effects of losing players like Timo Werner in the summer. Manager Julian Nagelsmann will be keen to make his team get a positive result and overcome the disappointment of the reverse fixture. United could have been in a comfortable position in the group if not for the loss against PSG.

WHY WAN-BISSAKA IS SNUBBED BY ENGLAND

England manager Gareth Southgate has revealed the reason behind his decision to exclude Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from his latest squad.

Wan-Bissaka was conspicuously absent on the 29-man list of players called up to prosecute the internationals in November. Southgate and his wards are facing games against Home Nations rivals Republic of Ireland, Belgium and Iceland. The Republic of Ireland game is a friendly, while the others are in the UEFA Nations League.

On the exclusion of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the England manager told reporters that other right-sided defenders are ahead of him. He has an array of quality players at his disposal on the right side of defence – all of it adding up and making it so that all 6 of the best betting sites in uk have him as a rank outsider to be included in England’s Euro 2021 squad.

Manchester City player Kyle Walker, Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier, Chelsea player Reece James, and Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold are all ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the England right-back pecking order though Trent has been forced to pull out of the Ireland, Belgium and Iceland matches because of a calf problem. The Arsenal duo of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Bukayo Saka are also options for Gareth Southgate in that position.

Southgate praised Aaron Wan-Bissaka for his ability in the one-on-one duels. According to him, he’s one of the best he has seen in that aspect of the game. The England manager further said that he favours the attack-minded right-backs in a bid to find the right balance.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s defensive numbers are unrivalled in the Premier League. Last season, he won 80 tackles and 11 more than the nearest challenger. The £50m defender was dribbled past by the opposition on just 22 occasions. In stark contrast, Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold was dribbled past 41 times but his 13 assists from last season show that the England manager favours an attacking fullback.

The England manager is also contemplating a reunion with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy who has retired from international football. Southgate said that he would speak with Vardy about a possible return to the national team setup if he continues his impressive form in front of goal.

Brazil still favorite to win tournament

The Brazilian national team is still the favorite to win the 2018 World Cup across several soccer betting sites. Despite managing only a draw in their first game, the South American country is still favorite to win the tournament. Indeed with players such as Neymar, Coutinho, and Jesus at the top of their game, it is difficult to see who can stop them. They are currently offered at 9/2 to win the tournament in July and if they continue to play as they did in their second game it will be difficult to stop them.

They are followed by Spain who has also impressed since the beginning of the tournament. They are at the time of writing co-favorite with Brazil at 9-2 to win the Russian World Cup. Despite not having some really big names in the team, the Spanish team can boast itself of having a great collective play. The playing style that has allowed them to win the World Cup and Euros are still present in the team and opposing teams can find it hard to get possession of the ball. However, their only problems seem to be the lack of a manager after they have sacked their boss just three games before the start of the world cup.

They are closely followed by Germany at 7/1 to win the tournament. The Germans have been disappointing in their first game where they were beaten by Mexico. They failed to make their superiority count and were exposed at the back too often. Again in their second match, they had to rely on a late goal from Toni Kroos to win the game against Sweden. It seems that Germany lacks the urgency and aggressiveness that helped them win the tournament four years ago and this time around the likes of Brazil and Spain might be difficult to overcome.

Roma Vs Barcelona Betting Tips

Roma take on Barcelona in the Champions League looking to make the miraculous turnaround and reach the semifinals of the competition. The Italians have not done well when it comes to European games. Hence, it was not surprising to see them suffer a 4-1 defeat against Barcelona in the first leg of the quarter-finals. This defeat places them at a serious disadvantage coming into the second leg. Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez came up with goals that help them achieve a big victory. As a result, Barcelona are overwhelming favourites to qualify for the next round.

However, the Spanish club comes into the game on the back of a poor away form. The recent visits to Italy in order to play in the Champions League have also not been ended up as good results for Barcelona. As a result, this will be the only ray of hope for Roma as they look to achieve an incredible comeback.

The comfortable advantage in the La Liga, Barcelona has been able to settle newcomer Philippe Coutinho with ease. However, Lionel Messi and Suarez remain as the key players for the club even now. Roma’s major attention will be to stop the duo and half of their job will be completed as a result.

Due to the bad results achieved by Barcelona on Italian soil over the last few years, this game is likely to end up as a draw. It is available at the best possible price of 18-1 for a goalless draw, but we would go with just a solitary draw at 7/2. It is a much more rewarding game. Roma may be able to get one or two goals in the pursuit of progression, while Barcelona are the main. As a result, over 2.5 goals is the next pick when it comes to this game.

Chelsea vs Stoke Betting Tips and Predictions

Chelsea take on Stoke City looking to extend their impressive run of form against Mark Hughes and his team. Earlier in the campaign, the blues were able to get a 4-0 victory over this opponent. Now, Chelsea are aiming for a seventh consecutive victory at home. This match represents the best possible option for Chelsea, as Stoke City have been playing as a relegation material over the last few months. The club has been very poor at the back and have conceded a lot of goals. There is a huge amount of pressure on Mark Hughes in order to deliver positive results, but this may not be the game where he comes up with a great tactical battle.

Hughes will know that facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge happens to be one of the difficult aspects. Since Stoke have a game against Newcastle a couple of days later, it is better to focus on this game. Hence, Chelsea are available at a very strong price of 1.16 to win the game. Even a draw looks highly unlikely and this is why it is priced at 8.50. Stoke city are rank outsiders to win the match and it is not surprising to see them at 19.00. Since Chelsea are in a very short price, it would make sense to opt for a game that produces less than 2.5 goals from Stoke City. Interestingly, Stoke have been able to score in the last couple of the matches.

Since managing a victory over Tottenham at London in 2014, Stoke city have been unable to win any of the last 16 matches. It is looks highly likely that this record will continue going into the second half of the campaign. Antonio Conte will know that Chelsea must not dropping one point in the Premier league if the team is to end the season on a high.
