Manchester United vs Southampton Betting Preview

Manchester United are scheduled to host Southampton in Sunday’s Premier League clash. The Red Devils have been in superb form since the season resumption and they have picked up 13 points from five matches. Their run sees them within one point of the fourth position occupied by Leicester City whom they still have to play on the road.
As a result, they are in a good position to make the Champions League and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping that the club can register a fifth league victory on the bounce when the Saints make the trip to Old Trafford on Sunday. On the other hand, the Saints are currently in the bottom half of the standings in 12th and they have already secured their Premier League status for next term.

The South Coast outfit now have the opportunity to push for a top half of the table but it won’t be easy, considering they are five points behind 10th-placed Burnley with four games left in the season. On paper, United are the favourites to come up with the three points this weekend and they should do so with their attack in superb form since the restart.

Bruno Fernandes has been catalyst for the change with his creativity from the attacking midfield role and United should come up with a comfortable win over the Saints. Teenage attacker Mason Greenwood has been in fine form since the restart with four goals and one assist. He should be fancied to open the scoring, having managed to do so in two of the previous three games.

United, meanwhile, have scored at least three goals in each of the previous four league matches and a repeat of the same can’t be ignored. The Saints, however, could manage to find the odd goal, given Danny Ings has been in fine form this season with 19 goals in the Premier League.
