Luke Shaw insists he can improve to any level with Manchester United

England international Luke Shaw has said that he has more room for improvement with Manchester United despite bagging the man of the match award during the recent Premier League clash against Liverpool. The left-back had a dominant performance against Mohamed Salah on Sunday where United managed to settle for a 0-0 draw against their fierce rivals.

Speaking after the game, Shaw was pleased to have produced a strong showing against Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are currently leading the Premier League standings. He added that he is currently at an age where he can display further improvement in terms of the performances, he said: "Defensively definitely, yeah, but these are the games that you want to try and step up in, you want to try and prove why you're here.

"You want to play against the best, you want to test yourself against the best and I want to keep doing that in my career. I'm still quite young. There's always room to improve and that's what I want to do, keep improving and see what happens. I think I've still got another level to come. I don't think I am really at my best and I know what I can do when I'm at my best."

“Shaw had faced an uncertain future during the backend of the previous season“ where Ashley Young was regularly preferred ahead of him for the left-back role. However, he managed to transform himself with the help of a personal training session during the summer and this has helped him regain a starting role as well as secure a “new long-term contract“ with the club.

As such, things are going in the right path for the defender, who has also returned to the national team reckoning, but it remains to be seen whether he can take his game to the next level by contributing assists for the frontmen.
