LEEDS VS LEICESTER

  • Posted on: 29 August 2013

Leeds United will be taking on Leicester City during the weekend in one of the crunch games of the Championship season. Both clubs are expected to be challengers for the promotion at the end of the season. Hence, this is an extremely important match in just the second weekend of the season.

Both teams come into the match on the back of a victory on the opening day of the campaign. Their victories were extremely similar because they were made to work hard by the opposition. They came back from behind to win the match. Leeds United took on Brighton and Hove Albion on the opening day.

Leicester City, meanwhile, won their match against Middlesbrough by the same score of 2-1. Both teams also managed victories in the league cup matches during the week. As a result, there is little separating them in terms of odds going into the weekend. Leeds have an extremely good away record against Leicester because they have lost only one match in the last six. Even though they do not lose in the match, they do not win it either. This is seen from the record of just one win in the last eight matches away from home against Leicester.

Many bookmakers are slightly edging the home team in this match with Leicester City rated at 1.8 by Bet Victor.
"I'm trying. There's no point in me saying what I'm trying to do but I am trying. We've got, for example, two young centre-halves (Tom Lees and Jason Pearce) playing all the games because we've only got those two. We've got a number of left-backs, but no wingers. We're short in areas. We've been without Rudy Austin, El Hadji Diouf and Sam Byram, and they're big players for us, but we've won the last two games and dug out results," said Leeds manager Brian McDermott.
