BACK UNITED

Manchester United will be taking on West Ham at Old Trafford looking to maintain their position at the top of the table. The draw for Manchester City during the weekend meant that United went top of the table following their 3-1 victory over QPR.

It has been a great season for United in the attacking front, but not so great in terms of the defensive abilities. They have conceded a lot of goals this season, which is unlike United. However, they come into the match against West Ham looking to extend their advantage at a key stage of the season.

United are extremely strong during the New Year and Christmas period. They already have a one-point advantage over City in the table. West Ham will be coming into the match on the back of the 3-1 defeat against Tottenham, but apart from that, Sam Allardyce has been able to get his team up into the top half of the table. In fact, before the Tottenham defeat, they were in the seventh position and they should not be taken lightly by United. Allardyce will be without Mark Noble for this match, while Ferguson will be missing Paul Scholes. Both players are unavailable due to suspensions.

Due to the impressive home form for United this season, they have been rated 1/4 for a home win. This excellent odd is provided by Paddy Power, while Coral is providing odds of 5/1 for a draw. Paddy Power is also providing odds of 12/1 for an away victory. This is not beyond the hopes of imagination because West Ham recently had a good record on the Old Trafford stadium. United have been at the best in the last three matches, as they have suffered two defeats in this run. Allardyce will be aware of this fact.
