Barton found guilty for betting

Former Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has been given a one-match ban after having been found guilty of betting on football matches.

Barton is currently without a club after his contract with Rangers was terminated in early November. He will have to face the ban if ever he signs for a new club in January. The Rangers management has stated that they were disappointed with the way things have happened as they were hoping that Joey Barton would have been an asset for the team.

The midfielder was found guilty of placing bets on 44 matches from the period July 1 and September 15. According to the Scottish Football Association rules, a football player is not allowed to place bets on any games.

So far, Joey Barton has not received any offers, and with his disciplinary track record, it might be difficult to imagine any club willing to take the risk of signing the players.

At the moment he is training with Burnley in order to stay fit. However, the club has made it clear that they have no intention of signing the player on a long-term basis.

Burnley coach Sean Dyche said that he is always willing to help a player and that he will be providing all the necessary support to Joey Barton to get back on track. He said that he has done it in the past with other players and that Joey Barton is no different.

However, he made it clear that there is no immediate plan for Burnley to sign the player and that they are just offering the infrastructure in order to remain fit. He believes that Joey Barton can still play at the highest level, but he has to change his attitude towards the game and enjoy his game.
