With the 2014 World Cup just a few months away from starting, there already are bet shops receiving bids for respective countries to win it all while some people are placing their bets on some teams to not make it into the quarter-finals of the worldwide competition.

Television and Internet has played an important part in the world of soccer betting as it is just so much easier nowadays to watch matches and look at players and team profile.

The odds for the upcoming World Cup have Brazil being the favorites on winning it followed closely behind by Argentina, Germany and Spain.

Argentina is expected to make it through the next stages of the 2014 World Cup after being pitted in a group with Iran, Bosnia and Nigeria. It seems to be a fairly simple group compared to many others but things might just be a bit more complicated for Argentina as all of their opponents are known to play very physical.

The star player of Argentina, Lionel Messi has also been struggling with Argentina after playing a friendly match against Romania a few days ago and having to settle with a 0-0 draw.

Romania is ranked at the 29th position in the FIFA rankings meanwhile Argentina is in 3rd place but if they are unable on securing a victory against a team which is ranked so lowly, this may be a sign of what’s to come for the team of Alejandro Sabella.

Even with the disappointing performances that Messi has been displaying with Argentina, many fans are still backing up the Barcelona star to win the World Cup and will bet on the 26 years old player on pushing his country to success and help them win the trophy they have failed on winning since 1986.
