DIABY RETURNS

Abou Diaby was expected to make his return into the first team of Arsenal in this week but the Frenchman has encountered another setback which will be delaying his return to action for an unknown amount of time.

The Frenchman has been out of action for 13 months after suffering from a cruciate knee ligament injury and a few days ago he was featured in Arsenal’s Under-21’s defeat against Chelsea but despite only playing for 45 minutes, he had to be removed from the pitch in half-time after sustaining a groin injury.

Despite having to be on the sidelines for such a significant period, the French player revealed that he has never thought about retiring.

He said: "I never had such a long break. I never had a knee injury and it is really weird. You can feel physically there is something different. But I learnt a lot from my injuries. I can keep things in perspective’’.
"I work hard without asking questions. I work hard because I know in the end I will play again. I am still a high level footballer in my mind; otherwise I would have given up. But I never think to give it up." Diaby said.

Diaby has not been able to make a single league appearance for Arsenal in this season due to injuries and the previous season, the Frenchman was limited of being featured in 11 matches.

Just as Arsenal was celebrating with Abou Diaby’s long awaited return from his injury, they will have to wait a longer period of time in order for the French player to appear in the first of Arsenal and it still remains unclear on whether or not he will be able to play in any of the remaining matches of the Premier League.
